Louise Agnes "Bob" was born August 26 1904.  She is the 11th child of Edward and Millie (who lived to adulthood).  She got her nickname when her brothers started calling her "Bob-0-Link".
"Bob" married Heber Lee Bond in Rushville, Nebraska on April 30, 1923 by Rev. J.W. Nepper.  Heber Lee worked for the railroad out of Long Pine..
They had three children - two daughters and a son.  Neta Lee and Richard Andrew were born on the farm southeast of Long Pine.  Eight years later, the family mosed six miles south to a ranch, where Jeaneen was born.
A severe heart condition left Heber Lee unable to continue on the ranch.  In 1937 he bought a cafe in Hay Springs, NE some 200 mile to the north.  Heber Lee and "Bob" retired in 1945, sold the cafe, packed up the two youngest kids and their belongings and went west.  Neta Lee, the oldest, had married Harold Olson a short time before.
The family drove south from Hay Springs, and across the southern part of the U.S. before turning north up the coast of California and Oregon.  They spent some time in Portland visiting Heber Lee's relatives before continuing on to their final destination - Rosland, Washington.
Rosland was a big disappointment to "Bob" & Heber Lee.  The town was surrounded by moutains, there were 22 taverns in town and as many different languages spoken.  Wooden sidewalks and unpaved streets...there were three mines in the middle of town!  Heber Lee knew this would be a money-making town, but not a place to bring up his children.  Once the family belongings caught up with them, he and "Bob" moved the family back to Portland, Oregon.
Heber Lee died July 25, 1961.  "Bob" died September 3 1997.  Both are buried in Portland.
